My bills equal to how much I make...I'm living check to check and struggling...I have two kids also and any extra money goes to them. not much but just enought to get them pull ups and a mc donald meal every two weeks...I want a nice wedding but I can't afford it. I was going to get married 7/7/7 at 7pm but my funds are not letting me so I'm picking 9/22/07 to give me more time...Should I push it back further to 08?

I've thought about the stripping thing but my town is too small...that's out of the question LOL!
I've thought about tax return thing but I have to fix my car. and that'll equal the amount.

Well, can you count on money from your tax returns and just have a small wedding?

I know it sounds corny, but what about a garage sale to bring in some extra cash. I know when I dig around for change and go to those coin counter machines, I usually end up with an extra $75 or so.

The day is about you and your hubby, but if you are really set on having something a little fanicer then you will probably have to push it back. Best of luck to you!

Weddings can be done on such a budget. Don't push the date back, just cut the budget back. I have done wedding planning for years! I did a terrific wedding for a family on the beach with a stretch hummer, dinner, drinks, rooms for all the family members, photographer, cake, outfits, flowers, jewelry, decoration, minister and invitations for under $2,500. We sent out beautiful announcements with pictures that detailed the highlights of the wedding so it was like everyone could "participate" in the special day. It was so beautiful and more memorable than most high paying weddings. The most important thing to remember is that you are presumably marrying the man you love and want to be with forever. Have a small intimate wedding with family on the date you want and you can always have a re-dedication ceremony a year or two later. Don't wait because of money, because that day may never come. Good luck.

Tell everyone you are saving for a wedding. See what friends can loan you for the wedding so you can plan your budget better. On your birthdays ask for $$$ for the wedding. Ask around and see if you can babysit a little on the side. Collect money saving ideas so you can cut cost down before the wedding. Ask friends and family if they would help with decor, food, etc and see what they can do. I had a friend who was living paycheck to paycheck and so was the guy she married. They had little, but they had a church filled with love and family and friends willing to help. She borrowed everything. The church and family did potluck for rehearsal dinner and reception. It was beautiful.

Depending on how long you've been engaged, I would push it back to 08'.
My fiance and I would LOVE to get married this year, but we want a gorgeous wedding here in the NYC area and know we will have to save. We're getting married next year.
I do know plenty of couples who've married on a budget and were able to have wonderful weddings, though.
Congrats!

this is a crazy idea why don't you go to the mayor or justice of the peace office to get married in my state Pa all that costs a donation.if you want a little bit of flowers etc there that's your decision. when you get a little bit of money you can always have a little reception for people who couldn't make it to the wedding. And years from now you could always have a formal wedding to renew your vows if you want to and are more finacially secure.
