When all research indicates both these substances have less long term and short -term side-effects then Alcohol and Tobacco how can we justify their illegal status Alcohol and tobacco are used as every day recreational drugs yet users and manufacturers of THC or MDMA products are persecuted
Does the religious views of a nations leaders influence this decison rather then actual hard evidence?

Yes do you really think I haven't read the load of junk already the majority of it lacks credability and studies have showen the most frequent users of these substances are doctors , nurses and lawyers so if the most medically educated people in society still use them doesn't it tell you that these organisations arguments lack credability

If you mean THC as in the THC found in marijuana, it's mostly illegal because of the way it's handled, or mishandled.
Often during the "dry" season a lot of dealers will spike their weed with some crazy things to make it more potent. That way they can compete with the few other sellers in the area. I've heard of LSD, crack, heroine, rat poison, spray-on flea medication, WD-40 and other equally stupid things being put in marijuana just to sell a bit more pot. Sometimes it does serious damage to the person smoking it, depends on what they put in it.
Now mind you, this doesnt happen all the time, or even a lot.
But it happens enough for the government to decide it's not worth the risk. Especially in a market they can't even monitor, let alone control.

I suggest you do some more research on the effects of MDMA and THC. It is incorrect that their long term and short term effects are less than those of alcohol or tobacco.
MDMA can have an irreversible and dramatic effect on the first take for example.

Nothing wrong with THC, it is actually healthy if you think about it. MDMA is different. If someone has a bad trip on MDMA, that person could kill someone due to hallucinations.

I think if alcohol came about in the past 100 years, it would probably be illegal. THC is certainly far more benign.
But I wouldn't say it's religious conviction. It's just old fashion nanny statism.

Depends on how you measure "best". The most widely used moral systems are based on the Bible, not religious leaders who come and go. It's hard to find fault with the ten commandments and the golden rule as moral guides.

I guess, in a way it does.... THC and MDMA are illegal because they threaten the oil, paper, plastic and cotton industries. GREED keeps THC illegal, not religion...

I think that this retarded question is an example of how nasty the long-term use of MDMA and THC is. That crap rots your brain.

I don't think so, but I DO know the criminalization of marijuana has very racist roots.

you may want to do a little more research on the effects of those drugs before you go making stupid statements like the one you just made
