I think you are reffering to a 2x teleconverter. It is a device that goes between your lens and your camera body. It doubles the power of the lens that you are using. So if you are using a 50mm, it makes it a 100mm. Hope this helps.

If you have a digital, which I think you have, you will need to figure out what the 35mm equivalent lens it has. If it is 35mm and youhave 2x, then your furthest telephoto is 70mm. That would mean that you are covering all bases on an average. 35mm is considered a wide angle and 50mm, which is normal on a 35mm film camera would take care of how the eye sees it, and 70mm will do a portrait.
