I know that men have a lower range than women but are all mans ranges the same. What is a normal mans range on the piano in relation to middle C. Can the range be expanded. If so, how.

Vocal ranges can always be expanded. It just takes a lot of work. I myself am a counter tenor. That means that I have the highest vocal range of men. In relation to middle C, my vocal range goes down to an F sharp two below middle C and a C sharp above middle C.

It really just depends on the individual. There are basso profoundos (absolute lowest), bass, baritone, bari-tenor, tenor, and counter tenor. There really isn't an average. It's all about the individual.

Most men however can go anywhere from two G's below middle C to an A above middle C. I'd guess that's close to average if you're looking for a dead on range.

All singers, male and female are different, there isn't a 'normal'. The range you have may be expanded by good coaching and a lot of practise but wouldn't change a tenor into a baritone etc. It's all to do with shape of larynx and flexability in the vocal chords!

There are different voice parts for men. The lowest voice part is bass, then baritone, and finally tenor. Some tenors can can sing middle C is a little bit higher in falsetto, but it's a stretch as far as I know. Vocal ranges can be expanded with practice, though every singer as their limits.

Yes, range can always be expanded. I have a friend who sang barritone until his voice developed more in late highschool/early college, now he sings tenor, but can hit high C's in the treble cleff. This amazing vocal mobility id purely from vocal training; he takes voice lessons and chorus. Consistant practice of warm-ups strengthens your voice, and range.

Everyone is different, and age makes a big difference too.
