Depends on how old you are. If your 9, I don't think you should start just yet. But if your around 12-13, then that's the average age to start shaving. I started when I was 12. Also if you don't really have hairy legs, then you don't need to worry about it. But if you can see the black hair, then maybe it's time, but only if you're old enough to understand that once you start, you can never stop! Take it from me, I've been shaving every other day for the past 12 years!

So unless your mom is very strict, or abusive, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. She's a mom. She expects everything! If you're not the oldest, then I'm usre she's heard it before. Just go up to her, and show her your leg, and ask her if she thinks it time for you to start shaving your legs. If she doesn't think it's time, ask her why. You need to sit down and have a discussion about why you can't, or why you should.

Don't get mad or upset when she says no. She's going to be a little upset that you watn to, only because it means that you're growing up. You need to be mature enough to handle being told no. If you throw a fit and scream and cry, and lock yourself if your room, then that'll just show your mom that you're not mature enough. But if you're calm and mellow, and try to have a grown up conversation(mature i mean, not like big people convo), then I'm sure your mom might give it a second thought.

I didnt ask my mum and cut myself. I wish i had asked her. She probably wont mind, just phrase it casually, not like it is too much of a big deal.

But if you dont want to, here are some tips. Use a shaving oil rather than a foam becuase then you can see what you are doing. The first time avoid the knee area - it is tricky, so have some practice with the rest of your leg first. Same applis to the back of the ankle. Use long, light strokes upwards - dont press too hard.
Moisturise afterwards. Also, dont worry about it! If you are nervous you are more likely to cut yourself. Even if you do, it is a tiny nick and they dont hurt.
Hope it all goes ok.

I had a friend at school who was like this and she spent the whole summer walking around in thick black tights sweating her **** off to hide her hairy legs!

If you're a bit too young to buy a razer yourself then just use your mums! I really don't think you need to ask... or use your dads, he'll soon get pissed off when his blade keeps getting blunt and buy you one! (Just make sure you stick to your legs and not other areas for hygiene reasons!)

Girls should shave their legs. Use shave gel and take it slow and gentle til you get the hang of it.

Happy shaving!

Just wanna say that the advice given to u is really good. Speaking to your mom about it is the best idea, and I'm sure she will be happy to help.
Just one thing though - If you are a blondie, don't do it. I am and you could hardly even see them, but I had to follow my mates and start shaving... duh, now my leg hair are practically black, while everywhere else is still blond - I'm sooo annoyed with myself.
PS - shaving gets really boring after about 2 times!

I think you should ask your Mom. Trust me Mothers are always ready to help you out even if it's an unexpected question.
Don't rush to shave because all your friends are as it is a pain(grin)
If you thing it is an embarrassment too you, tell your Mom. she'll help you sort everything out.

my dad never would let me shave my legs, then finally in the 6th grade I told my mom, that it was embarrassing because i couldn't even wear shorts. So just like ask her how old she was when she started shaving, then be like because i was wondering if i could start.

Honestly, yeah, she's expecting it. When you mention something like "My legs are looking a little hairy--do you think it would be okay if I shaved them before I went to my friends house?" or whatever, she will probably be okay with it.
