Yes, you will get a lump sum check from the date that you were approved through the date of your first check. At least in the state of Texas that is how it works.

You are raising a number of issues here: First, she would only be eligible for Social Security disability if her COPD and/or CHF were at a level high enough to qualify her for disability. Disability is not automatic - her medical condition has to either meet a listing, she has to meet a grid rule or her capacity for work must be so reduced that she would not be able to function in a work environment. All that being said, the question of whether she qualifies for disability may be a non-issue. If she applies for disability after age 62, SSA will automatically convert that application into an application for early retirement benefits under Social Security. If she waits until she is 65, of course, she would get the higher benefit of full retirement benefits. Statistically, however, if she has these serious medical conditions, the early retirement benefits may make the most sense.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.
If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.
Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.
And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.
I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.
It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.
Today, I want to do the same for you!

Yes you should get a full check from the first day you signed up. So I have been told.
Hope you are having a flair free day!
Maybe it is the state you live in? There are two different disabilities, the state and federal.

Yes, you will get back pay! Depending on what state you live in and their regulations will determine if you will get a lump sum.
