The easiest home remedy is to apply hydrogen peroxide with a cotton swab on the canker sore (one part hydrogen peroxide and one part water). Then dab a small amount of milk of magnesia on the canker sore 3-4 times a day. This is not only soothing, but appears to help healing.

Canker Cover is a tablet-like patch made from edible ingredients. It sticks to any canker sore within seconds, and then forms a clear, gel patch that lasts 8 - 12 hours. The patch protects the sore from irritants - food, drink, braces, etc., and releases healing nutrients. A single patch will treat most canker sores.

Prescription medications can be applied to the affected area to help control the inflammatory process that leads to canker sores. These include amlexanox and fluocinonide and should be applied before an ulcer appears, as often as every two hours when the patient is awake for the first few days of the ulcers.

Herpes medication and figuring out in your case what it is that is causing them to re-occur. Unfortunately they only slow down with time, since there is no cure for them currently you just have to take care of them individually. Oh yeah and try different meds because some meds work great for other people but won't do anything for you

FYI, if they are inside your mouth they are canker sores, if they are on your lips, they are herpes.
