The cause is what's in dispute, not that it's happening.

No. The bible isnt consistant with anything scientific. Dont dig any deeper than the strange broken english.

Also Global Warming is NOT a FACT. It is only a FACT that the earth has been warming since temperatures have been recorded. We dont know what was happening 5000 years ago now do we? Or 1 million years ago?

Because global warming is a direct challenge to their paradigm. Mankind, especially those in positions of power, have operated on the philosophy that the world is for us to do with as we see fit, including changing, manipulating, exploiting, extracting, using the resources, burning the fuels, polluting the environment, cutting down the forests, etc. all without consequences. And, until the industrial age, we had relatively little effect on the planet. Now, with population explosions and a massive expansion of the power of our industry and technology, we have changed the planet drastically in the last century. As we now see the consequences of our recent new power to change our world and its negative side, we are being asked to change our paradigm. For those who profit most from what we are doing, this means a big loss to them if we change. The result is a massive campaign to stop any discussion of this issue rationally, and the discrediting of anyone who brings forth the message.

Yes it is, and people deny global warming for the same reason they deny the Christ, fear and stupidity. They can do things that will make both easier on themselves, but instead they ignore it hoping it isn't going to happen to them.
I just watched "An Inconvenient Truth", what an eye opener to Global Warming.

It's mostly Americans, I'm sorry to say. My BF lives in Australia and they are just astonished that we still don't accept GW as fact.

People deny global warming because it's cheaper and easier to just keep living the way we have been, rather than face the situation and deal with it appropriately.

The best one I've been told, by a minister, is that there is no need to worry, we cannot hurt man kinds existence before the end of time. Do not be concerned about global warming because we will be delivered before it will catch up with us, he said. That is what is taught to his congregation. What an idiot.

Wolf! Wolf! WOLF!!!!!!!

Maybe we've heard it too many times before. Global cooling was supposed to freeze us to death back in the '70's. In the '60's it was pollution. The truth is that mankind isn't capable of more than a minor effect on 'global warming'. It's mostly a solar phenomenon, and out of our hands.

I don't deny that the earth is getting a bit warmer. I just wonder if it's really that unusual or such a big deal as Al Gore would have us believe. I mean if you look at all the temperature history of the earth, the average temperature has been much, much hotter a few times over the last few million years.

Global warming is actually going away. The Ozone layer is repairing itself now. Haven't you heard in the news?

Because if they aknowleged global warming, then they might be obliged to do something about it, and it might cut down on thier prophet margin. It is January, and its +7 celcius here in the great green north.
