Lets hope he does WELL! Ford needs Yates to stay around. More than anything, lets hope he can help Gilliland along the way.
The wild card in the whole thing, is 16 races of the COT, who did their homework! Rudd tested the COT more than any full time driver in NEXTEL last year. That could help the Yates organization in the learning curve.

He will do well. He is very competitive on the short tracks and, road courses and, is very familiar with Yates equipment. pay jeff gordon rules nascar, no mind. He must have started watching nascar a couple of months ago. He couldn't have been around for long or, He would remember that the last time Rudd drove for Yates, He almost won a couple of championships.

A few top 10s, finish about 18th in points. He was mildly successful for RYR not so long ago. I think the Roush-Yates partnership had a lot to do with the lack of success for DJ and Elliott Sadler. It was great for Roush but seemed to suck the life out of Yates, arguably one of the best engine builders. Ricky has had time off now, so I imagine he is hungry to get back in the car. You could tell when he drove for Tony last year that he still has that competitive fire.

Given that he has a crew chief that he can communicate with, and Yates gives everything he has into the team Rudd could be competing for the chase. If not, then he will be running in the top 25.

Like many others, I don't expect much of him really. I'm guessing he'll stay pretty consistant in the 20s or so, and a few top 10s. I think he's a good driver, but I don't think his team has enough momentum as it is now.

I think after a few races he will do maybe even better than Jarrett did. He did not do that bad with the woods brothers in their cars so just imagine him in Yates equipment. I like having him back. I think he will be in the teens maybe even fighting for a spot in the chase. You never know
