Ive got a Kodak Easyshare.
Absolutely idiot proof, very good video and pictures, sound on the video is good too. Its really easy to use, has a good zoom etc.

An all round good camera.

Without a shadow of doubt look at the Nikon S4 (or the new s10).

Good points = can fit in pocket,good resolution,fantastic zoom (40 x total, 10 x optical 4 digital),swivel design great for overhead shots.
Bad points = lens cap weak and will break, can not buy replacement in the uk!
Poor video quality when zooming or in any other light other than sunlight.
I bought an S4 and recomended it to 5 people who are also pleased with it.

Search on Kellkoo for best deals I got one for £150 (rrp £300)

You won't be dissapointed.

The one which Currys have on sale is the Saumsung D103. Excellent camera, and reduced at the moment from £300 to £129. I'm more than impressed with the camera, it is used as my smaller camera, as I have a panasonic FZ50 too.
The D103 is 10Megapixels, and although megapixels arent everything, this camera takes awesome pictures! A 10megapixel camera for £129? Yes, you heard right.
Whatever you do, dont buy anything from Jessops! So much more expensive than any other camera retailer I've ever known.

The Fuji Finepix F30. Two things set this camera above the others in its price range: most importantly, its ability to take decent sharp pictures in low light conditions without the flash (photos of people indoors are much more flattering without flash, and at concerts or similar events, a flash would be of no use anyway). Secondly, its battery life, which is roughly double that of most of its competitors.

If you can't get the F30, the older F11 and F10 and the newer F31 are very very similar.
