He's slightly older than me, and I know he doesn't have a girlfriend, I just need to get enough courage together to take the plunge and ask him out!! Please help!

keep it really really casual, so if refuses neither of you are embarrassed - why not suggest a few of you go for a drink straight from work, that way you can chat to him socially and then if he does like you he can ask you out, or at least you will be able to see if there is any interest there and then you could ask him
or how about "I'm a bit fed up don't suppose you fancy lunch do you?"

See now we're into the whole area of signals and stuff! Ya gotta be clear - well as far as you can be!
First of all get talking to him. See if you actually get on well.
You might also consider geting a trusted mutual confidant to mention to him that you were "talking a lot" about him. A girl would be good for this.

The main sign would be how his eyes look when you talk to him. If you walk by and look at him, and he looks back at you, youll know. As far as asking him out, just walk up and ask him!!! The worst he can say is no, but most probably he will accept!! Just take that chance.

Remember that it's not always a good idea to mix work and pleasure. If you start a relationship & it doesn't work out, would you still feel comfortable about working in the same office? If you just want a casual friendship, then just ask him out & see what happens.

At least it will get a conversation started. And its not confrontational as it is work and you do work together.
