hi sweety, i would just keep a check on his diet for a few day's. see what he eats and drinks, and indeed how he does it, all-sorts of things can cause discolouring of the tongue and not all are serious. Ignore the idiots and buy him a bottle of Cordysil antiseptic mouthwash. Its at all chemists and is the strongest brand available, which is usually dispensed by dentists and doctors alike. Try this for a week and see how you go. If there is no change then just pop along to the surgery, but remember if you buy some or get it on a script not to drink water anything after for at least half an hour or you will literally just wash away any good you do, hope this helps

Maybe he has burned his tongue on something that he ate that was hot. That has happened to me before. Ignore the immature comments that you are getting by others. Like you asked... Serious answers only. Hopefully everything is ok and its nothing serious.
Take care!!

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/KwtRF

Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.

Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.

Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.

It could be thrush. Particularly if his mouth is sore and he has a white film over the red areas. If it is sore I would check it out with a visit to the Dr.

It could be "erythematous candidiasis"

"Erythematous" means red
"candidiasis" refers to infection with the yeast

It could be be linked to smoking or diabetes. You will need to see your doctor to get "anti-fungal" medication to clear it up as well as stop smoking or cut back on sugar.
