The guy should, it's the chivalrous thing to do.

I think it depends on the person in question. I am of a generation where the man always did the asking - much to frustration I must add - and many people still think that way

What I would suggest is that if the person concerned is a modern 2001 thinking person then it's fine for the girl, however, if either of them are more traditional, then unfortunately it's down to the waiting game, although as I remember I did enjoy the flirting bit almost as much as the dates on some occasions!!!!!!!

Whoever wants to go out on the date more. Shouldn't really matter, but usually the guy makes the first move, though there are lots of girls nowadays that won't hesitate to ask a guy out that they really like.

It depends on your current relationship: if you don't know each other too well and want to get to know her better, by all means step up. But if you are friends don't jeopardize that friendship: just find ways to get closer, hang out with her more often, and if it's right for both of you a date will come naturally.

This is such an easy question to answer. This is not a gender-specific role. It's about attraction. You should be the one to ask. Because you want to. Never wait for the other person.

Doesn't matter who does it...if you know you are interested in someone then go for it...waiting might cause you to miss your chance.
