I know, for example, that the Knights of Columbus fields religious questions. I want a more ecuminical answer that I feel that they would provide.

Every religion is its own authority. Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization. If they don't satisfy you try a Catholic priest or email the pope.

I think it depends on what you are asking and if you expect a response (as opposed to a Q&A sheet). Otherwise there are many sites aimed at giving "authoritative" religious answers. If you email me with the kinds of questions you want answered (and who you want to answer them) I might be able to help. However, most of what is worth reading is in books, not websites.

Don't go to them if you a straight answer. If you have a question about Christianity, you need to go to the source. Look up the ante-Nicene Fathers, start at the beginning, and see how Christian theology developed. Don't expect anybody to give you "authoritative" answer about a religion that has no central authority!

i was raised catholic, went to a catholic and all that jazz. i studied many many religions and found no answers to life's most important questions, until i started studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, honestly, telling you the truth, they are the ONLY ones who know the Bible and what it REALLY teaches, they dont pick and choose based on what they THINK is right like all the churches do (thats why we have so many different denominations) if you want to learn more or have any questions, go to www.watchtower.org, its the best decision you will ever make.

I think I would try Vatican . The have a web site. I'm sure they think they have the right answers to a lot of queries.

Search out Bishop Shelby Spong. Very intelligent and not 'religious'

Depends on the question, but the Nat'l Organization for that religion would be a good starting place.

Depends on what you are looking for. I might like to know too. I have been to site for current events from a Biblical perspective though that is neat. It's at
www.olivetreeviews.org

Unfortunately, any such website would need to be sponsored by a given church or denomination.

Your best bet is to do your own research. biblegateway.com is an actual online bible with comprehensive search tools. That's what I use.

Authority is over-rated. Why don't you give this site a try?

Beliefnet is good. Lots of other sites too.
