Without going into too much detail, I'll simply say that I need help. I find myself always tired, all day long, but not the 'I want to go to sleep' kind of tired since I get 8 - 10 hours a night. I've been tested for anemia and have been told that that's not the case. I believe this is simply fatigue, but don't know for certain. I also work out by jogging about 2 miles a day and afterwards I don't feel tired or fatigue, I'm energized, but that fades away after an hour or two. I also don't feel this is depression since I'm generally a very optimistic person who loves to joke around. What could this possibly be? Is it simply fatigue or could this be something more?

Thanks for your answers so far... just a couple minor details I forgot that you guys reminded me of. I take vitamins daily, I eat fairly healthy with my diet mainly consisting of fish, salads, some chicken, baked potatoes, etc. I'm just so clueless and I appreciate all of your responses so far!

I had sleep apnea as a child but was recently re-tested for it and I don't have it.

As far as the medication thing goes... On occassion I do take Melatonin to help me fall asleep. I also take Hydroxyzine for a skin condition but I tend to only take it as needed.

I would ask the doctor if there are any other tests that can be done to check for any other problems, such as thyroids. Are you on any medications that can be hindering your energy? Also, look into sleep apnea, you may not know if you have a condition that is keeping you from getting adequate rest such as sleep apnea http://www.sleepapnea.org/info/index.html. You may also be stressed or not eating right, so check to see if any improvemtns can be made in your daily life. Good luck.

Excessive fatigue is a symptom of underactive thyroid. You need to have a blood test fr TSH which is thyroid stimuulating hormone. Another blood test that would be good would be glucose tolerance test. You didnt mention what your diet consists of. Be sure you are getting enough fruits and vegetables . Try a vitamin pill.

get your thyroid tested. it is the body's energy maker. you may need to have part of it removed, or even start taking meds. also, include more natural sugar into your diet. try eating two apples a day, or peaches, whatever you prefer.

also, get more vitamin C! drink a lot of orange juice and other citrus fruits.
