Cook 1lb of meet in a pot that is fairly tall, then when the meet is finished turn burner down and add veggies ( I like to add peas and corn ) mix that with the meat. Next make instant potatoes, 6 servings. Put potatoes onto of meat mixture and then cut some slices of Velveeta cheese stick in the oven for just a few minutes to let cheese melt and have a Delicious healthy meal ready for your family. This usually feeds my mom, two sisters of mine, and myself and still have a little leftover. Enjoy : )

Shepards Pie

Ingredients

(4 servings)

Beef, veal, pork orn
Combination of these meats

1 1/2 oz 1 1/2 T butter or margarine
1/2 oz Flour
1/4 pt Meat stock or milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Milk

Instructions

Mince the cold meat, removing all fat, skin and gristle first. Cook potatoes, peeled and cut in halves, until soft enough for mashing.
Melt 1 tablespoon butter or maragrine in a saucepan and stir in the four. To this add slowly stirring, 1/4 pint meat stock or milk. When smooth and fairly thick and just to the point of boiling, stir in the minced meat. Stir over a low heat for 3 minutes, seaoning with the salt and pepper to taste. Pour into a flat oven proof dish and refrigerate.
Meanwhile, mash the potatoes, season and stir in 1/2 teaspoon butter or margarine, and a little milk and whick with a fork until smooth. Set aside until the minced meat is cool enough to have solidified and formed a solid surface. If you add the potatoes to hot mince, it will sink into it.
When cool, spread the potatoes about an inch thick all over the dish, working lightly with a fork. Dot with pieces of butter or cover with grated cheese, if liked. Bkae in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
This dish may be prepared in the morning and left for cooking in the evening wothout harm. Cabbage is the best vegetable to accompany this dish.

I've always made it with corn...

Shepherd's Pie
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 to 2 cans beef gravy
2 to 4 cups frozen corn, cooked
2 to 4 cups mashed potatoes
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Paprika
In a skillet cook beef and onion over medium heat until no longer pink; drain grease. Add gravy to moisten; reserve some gravy for on top. Spoon meat mixture into a large greased baking dish. Spread layer of corn over meat. Next spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top. Drizzle with butter and sprinkle with paprika. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until heated through. Serve with additonal gravy.

Pillsbury (or other brand) already pie crust (includes top and bottom crust)
Brown, crumble, drain 1 Lb ground Chuck (or plain hamburger)
Make one package of instant beef gravy mix. Stir that together with the cooked meat.
Now make mashed potatoes (instant works good-can't tell they're instant after it bakes)
Drain one can corn.
Now...
Place one sheet of pie crust in pie pan.
Spread out the meat/gravy mixture.
Spread out the mashed potatoes on top of that.
Spread out the drained corn on top of that.
Top with other pie crust.
Bake according to pie crust box instructions for apple pie. I believe it's 400 degrees for about 40 minutes.
This fed our family of 5 for years. It is oh so very good and EASY! Cheap, too.

I think this will help:

SHEPARD'S PIE

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Aaaaaa

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
4 To 5 Potatoes
1 Onion, chopped.
2 c Lentils
1/2 c Or more TVP®
2 Or more cups frozen veggies
{I use peas, corn, carrots,
Beans}
1 c Nutritional yeast {I use
Enjivata yeast as well}
1 tb {or more} tamari sauce
1/8 c Oil
1/8 Water
2 c Water
1/2 c Flour

TO PREPARE: Top layer: Boil spuds & mash** {with soymilk, nutritional
yeast, parsley, minced garlic}. Set aside. Bottom layer: Cook up 2
cups of lentils in vegetable stock and chopped onion. When through add
enough textured vegetable protein to absorb the excess water. Set
aside. Prepare nutritional yeast gravy: Toast flour over medium
heat, add yeast, then oil and mix well. Add water. Bring to a boil and
use whisk to get rid of clumps. May want to add more yeast. Add tamari
and gravy flavoring. Cook a few minutes until thickened. Add to
lentil and TVP® mixture reserving about 1/2 cup for the top. In a
baking dish {I spray with pam}, spoon in lentil-TVP®-gravy mixture, then
put on frozen veggies, then spoon mashed potatoes over everything.
Drizzle with remaining gravy and bake for about a 1/2 hour or more in
a 375 degree oven. Source: modified by Janet Posted by Janet

"Shepherd's Pie" - 4 servings

2 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 cups cubed cooked lamb or beef
1 large onion; chopped
2 ribs celery; thinly sliced
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 cups hot, seasoned mashed potatoes

1) In 10" skillet over medium heat, in hot butter, cook lamb, onion and celery until vegetables are tender, stirring often. Stir in flour; gradually add beef broth. Cook until mixture boils, stirring constantly. Stir in Worcestershire. Turn meat mixture into 10x6" baking dish; spread mashed potatoes over mixture.
2) Bake at 450* - 10 minutes or until potatoes are lightly browned.

TIP: Prepare as above, but substitute 1 lb. ground lamb or beef for cubed meat; omit butter and increase beef broth to 1 cup. Cook meat with onion and celery as above; drain off fat. Proceed as above.
