I read something about anorexic people using horse tranquilizers... why would they do this, i.e., what will it do to the human body?

The horse pills do have a short time effect on the human body to help in weight loss. The drawback is that it only works for a short time and then the metabolism seems to get totally screwed up, the weight all comes back and more, and it becomes next to impossible to lose weight after that.

Who requires they be Aced? I wouldn't ride an aced horse, especially not in a parade. It can reduce their inhibitions, and actually cause more problems than it solves. I've ridden in parades, and most horses do quite well if there are other horses. But some horses, even very well behaved horses, are surprisingly unhappy with parading. You really can't predict in advance which horses will take to it and which not. To prepare, I'd ride him around as many scary things as possible long before the event. Ride around parking lots full of cars. Ride around people shouting and waving. Ride around parked trucks, and trucks with their motors running. Have someone drive a car slowly down your driveway or street, and you follow to get him used to being in line with big moving thins. Then you lead, and they follow. If you have a haywagon, that's ideal - parade with that. When I paraded, we just did it, but as we were just going to represent our 4-H club it was no big deal if we found the horse couldn't handle it - we just dropped out. Good Luck on Fair Court!
