I decided to start working out again because I gained some weight and now after I walk on my treadmill for an hour I feel really hungry and I also feel short of breath. I am changing the way I eat along with the exercise. Should I see my doctor before continuing with this routine? Thanks in advance.

An hour on a treadmill is a lot to start with! You can't jusu jump in at full pace. That would wind most people. However you still should check with your Sr. before you continue, especially with an hour of sraight cardio.

Try mixing in some machine weights, too!

The harder we work, the more hungry we get and the more we want and NEED to eat. You need to feed your muscle as it builds.

It is very normal to be hungry after, not t be would be abnormal.

It is a good tim to eat since your metabolism is going well.

Check with Doc and then get on to a good routine.

You should check with your physician before starting any diet and exercise regime. You will feel hungry because of a few reasons. First being that you are burning more calories which will in turn make your body want to consume more. Second your body will turn on the hunger "trigger" if you are not properly hydrated. Make sure that you follow your exercise with at least an eight ounce glass of water. Check with your physician about being short of breath. It could just be not being in shape or it could be some other underlying problem. Good luck!!!

The reason you feel hungry is because you just burned the ready use sugar in your blood. No problem. Just eat a light snack (fruit is best) afterwards. As you get in better shape, this will become less of an issue.
As far as the shortness of breath, if it comes with any chest pain, yes, see a doctor quickly.

The hungry feeling is due to the need of calories in your body after burning them during exercise. This is a completely normal sensation and everybody gets it. The shortness of breath, depending on intensity, could be caused by poor lung capacity or poor efficiency in bringing oxygen throughout the body. Mild shortness of breath, however, is completely normal and if you begin to breathe normally a couple of minutes after your workout then you have nothing to worry about. You sound like you're on the right path!

Your out of breath because your body is out of shape use a heart monitor so you can see how many beats per minuet your heart is beating so you don't exceed your max heart rate . To find your max heart rate is 220-age.....220-35 your old man is = 185 bpm (220-35=185) so this 35 year old man should not pass 185 beats per minute. 185 is your max rate to lose weight you need to be at 65% of your max heart rate got http://www.active.com/calculators/heartrate_calc.cfm
