I'm hoping to lose some weight for a convention in 5 months. Does anybody know of a diet that's pretty simple and gets rid of the weight pretty fast?

Low Carb is the fastest. But, whatever you do, educate yourself on the diet that you choose and exercise. Too many people think that exercise is not needed when it is the most important part.

Low carb, high protein worked well for me. It is similar to the Atkins, and South Beach Diet. Eat as much as you want, cut out these things: sugar, starches, white bread, breading. That includes no fast food, or food out of a box. You'll have to cook for every meal, but it's worth it. Eat nothing but non breaded vegetables, fruit and protein that's baked, boiled, broiled, or grilled, none fried or breaded. Exercise 30 minutes everyday and when you start losing, you won't be able to stop.

This is what bodybuilders do at the last minute before a contest to lose the layer of fat around their muscles.

I would add a warning: If you follow the popular high protein, low carb diets (Atkins, etc) for quick weight loss, you will regain weight just as quickly when you "take a break" from the diet.

Exercise, indeed, cannot be over-emphasized.

DON"T DO IT IT"S NOT WORTH IT. No I'm jk. Light and Low fat foods. Go on some sites and get the best diets. Also add exercise otherwise it's not worth the trouble. But not 2 much exercise. You don't want to be anorexic.

Try the South Beach Diet. It worked for me and I wasn't starving. I lost 20 pounds and kept it off for a while.
