I would give it a month. lol just kidding.
Yeah there shouldn't be a time limit; that is not cool. i mean i know someone who has been with his gf for 20 years now and still not married. I think that is pretty romantic. I mean do you think they shold have broken up after 7 years just cause they were not married yet? I think not! So just give the dude some time and i think he willl come around. good luck

I think a big factor to consider is your age first. Otherwise, if you feel like he's the one, then it's worth waiting for!!!
My husband and I were together for 2 years before he popped the question but then we were engaged for another 3 years before we sealed the deal. Men hate to feel pressured! Let him come to you without pressure, it will mean a whole lot more to him.
I would say that by year 5 if he has not asked you to marry him, then maybe you should take a hard look at your relationship. Consider your ages, maybe he wants to wait until he is older, consider your careers, maybe he want s to finish up some career things before he takes on marriage. And consider your financial situation, maybe he feels like you guys don't have the money.
Give him the benefit of the doubt!

What's the hurry???? I don't know how old you are but I'm 47 and if a woman kept pressuring me to get married I would back off more. Let me tell you marriage isn't anything to brag about. It has it good time and bad times. I'm on my second marriage at the moment.
The advantage to marriage is a tax write off. other than that a trust worthy relationship is equally as good as a good marriage.
If things go haywire it's much easier to walk with little hassles than being married. Live togeather that's the true test.
good luck

Marriage is not something people should rush into. The relationship you have is only between you, and the other. Its your life, and its nobodys business. Their is no deadline!

If you gave him time to get it together and he still hasn't made a move....I say make your own move and get what brings you the most joy
