wow!! that is the first time i have heard anyone outside of my family call it that!!!!! and yea its the same thing but i guess the spruce up the polenta by cutting it in squares and addind marinara.... i used to civil war re enact and we hate corn meal mush all the time

Itallians have been making Polenta since the time of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony, so the question should be...when did Polenta acquire the name Corn Meal Mush.

Polenta comes from a plant in Africa...it is not the same as cornmeal
