I recently went to the supermarket and probably overbought a bit on deli style lunchmeat. Would it be OK to freeze some of the unopened packages and save them for later?

yes it is OK to freeze lunch meat i do it a lot . when its on sale i buy extra because i have a teenage son who is constantly hungry so its always there for him to snack on. it always tastes the same and is a great money saver to buy on sale. and it also helps on keeping a variety of sandwich stuffs for picky kids! i hope this helped you.

Oh Yes and it is tastes the same, just use it within 8 weeks of putting in the freezer. Throw in the the fridge the night before and you will have meat for samiches :) in the morning!! PS - Cheese freezes as well!!!!

Yes. Make sure it is tightly wrapped. If air gets next to the meat it will get freezer burnt. Ideally, wrap it a few times.

I do that all the time. But the sooner you use it, the better it'll be. I wouldnt keep it in there too long. Unless you have one of those vaccum packing machines then it'll stay fresh even longer.
