The only approved use of these is for onychomycosis (on-ee-ko-my-ko-sis) or nail fungus.

Some physicians will prescribe a drug for an "off label" use and it is very effective.

I do not know any off label benefits for this drug. There is a Lamisil creme, topical that is good for many skin fungi and you can buy it at CVS, or Walgreens, or Target etc. over the counter.

The tablets are used for treating fungus "under the nail" becase you can't get oiintments, etc there. It take much longer that way (Like 12 weeks) and there is an increased risk of side effects since you take it internally. Particularly with the liver!

It is not wise to use any drug for off label things unless the Dr. okays it. Lamisil is very strong in tab form, so I wouldn't do that at all.

For skin fungus, the creme works well although I think Lotrimin works better. it is also available OTC at the above mentioned places and stores like them. Buy the generic!

hope this helps ya!
