Has anyone ever used clove oil to maintain healthy gums or to help control or slow down gum disease?

If so, does it really work?? I'm not talking about using it for a toothache. I'm only talking about using it on the gums. I have heard it helps...

no, but regular brushing and flossing works the best.

Clove oil is poisonous, and not to be used on gums. Clove oil is to placed in a cavity to relieve pain.
