You may be able to give the dog beano before it eats a meal. I do believe there is such a product just for pets on the market, however. I think it's called "Dog Smog", if I remember right. You'd just have to do a search for that or call your local pet store & see if they have something like that in stock.
Is your dog a "greedy" eater? Does he/she have competition with other dogs at the food bowl? Has he had eggs, milk or green veggies such as brocolli in his diet recently? First thing I would do is change the diet to include more fiber. But changing a dog's diet should be done in a gradual manner. That will take time. You might try feeding the dog two or three smaller meals a day, instead of one big one or instead of leaving a full bowl all day. Exercise will also help the gas problem as well.
Here's an immediate remedy you can try::
Activated charcoal can be given to your pet when needed for a couple of days. Try ¼ teaspoon for small animals and ½ teaspoon for larger ones. The charcoal will absorb the gas from the system. This is best used only occasionally since minerals will be leached out with the gas by the charcoal.
If the problem continues, be sure to consult your dog's veterinarian. There may be underlying problems that you cannot see or SMELL !!!
Good luck.

You should probably take it to a vet, but my first question is: what are you feeding it? What kind of dog is it? Some breeds normally have more gas than others. You can try giving the dog some human-style gas reducers, but I would be careful. The best thing is to eliminate giving it people food, and get a good-quality dog food for it. Purina, IAMAS and Science Diet are 3 really good brands. They may cost a bit more, but you don't have to feed as much, so the cost per bowl is about the same.

You need to give them bland food like a small portion(depending on the dogs size) of cool boiled rice. BUT don't give them too much food ever as a dogs stomach can literally turn over and they almost always die.
Too be honest, I would be asking WHY do my dogs have such gas in the first place. It could indicate a bowl misfunction; so get them checked out at the vet.

for some reason plain yogurt works. dogs don't do well with dairy so i don't know how it works but when my dogs had real bad gas i would mix in a large spoon full of plain yogurt (no flavoring or sweeteners) it worked. also there is a beano for dogs that you can get at the pet store.
