What is up with this new strain of flu?
It's like heavy, hot, wet bricks in your lungs...
Two weeks after a Z-pack!
ENOUGH ALREADY!
If you had it in 06 and had trouble getting rid of it, what did you use?

I know what you mean. I got so frustrated, I was daydreaming about hanging by inversion boots while someone took a garden hose to my lungs to clean them out. Didn't act on this one because of the whole drowning thing didn't seem very appealing.
This really is going to seem like a tired answer, but here it is:
Drink plenty of water. You should be tied to your water bottle and take at least a swig at least every 15 waking minutes.
It really does help the body fight the root infection and in this case will add moisture to the entire body including the lungs and the resident mucus.
And if you are currently just a little dehydrated, it will make you feel a little more lively as well.
Worked for me.
Get well soon.

Go to the doc and have them check you for parrot fever/psitacosis/bird flu. It's actually more common than people realize. Anyplace with their central air on the roof is gonna have pigeons and other such birds nesting in it and transferring the disease through the air conditioning and heating system. After a few times of getting it, I have developed a sort of resistance.

I had the chest thing last September....it never went away. Ok, so I actually have valley fever. If you have something that is that resistant to medication get checked for anything that may cause the same symptoms just to be safe.

I'm just getting over it now after 3 weeks. The z-pack cleared most up but I think that it was probably a viral cold which sucks because only time can cure that.

My husband has had it for a month and counting! The Z-pack wont phase this thing. Let us know if you find a cure, I know its a bad flu and he is a lineman who has to climb 80 foot poles, it makes it hard to climb them when he cant breath.

I'm having trouble getting rid of it. I wish I had something to suggest, the bug seems resistant to all the usual cures. I think these bugs are getting stronger and stronger. My best wishes for your good health, and mine too.
