Well some people scratch their privates or pick their nose. These things should never be done in company. That is having respect for those present.
If you are in company with an alcoholic, probably not a great idea to go to a bar.

It means when you're in a group, don't do anything to offend anyone.
Like you might use the F word all the time with pals, but you shouldn't when your Grandma is around, situations like that.
