My grandmother died of emphysema, my grandfather (also a heavy smoker) of a stroke at an early age. My mother of heart disease (also a smoker, gave it up too late). My Father died this last August, suffering horribly from emphysema. My Brother and sister and I had awful allergies from breathing smoke in the house all our childhood, my sister's chronic ear infections lead to hearing loss.
The smell (dirty ashtray) is the least of your problems. If you marry, get good health insurance and raise the kids in a different house.

No! I told my hubby 2 stop smoking, cause I got sick of the smell & the smoke. I told him he puts more cigarettes in his mouth than he does me!! He gave up cigarettes after that!
