Looking for information on how to check out or change the engine temp gage for the 3.1 liter v-6. Have a low coolant light and my temp gage doesn't work anymore.

If you have let the coolant run low in the recovery tank, then the sensor located in the recovery tank, is bad about telling you that you have low coolant when actually coolant is normal....but the temp guage works off the coolant temp sensor.. If it doesn't work at all, then more than likely, its unplugged..look just under the throttle body, you see where the top hose goes to the engine, you follow that, and then you will see and sensor screwed into the thermostat housing, with a wire from the harness attched to the top...if the sensor is bare, then look for a loose wire just hanging..if it is plugged up, then replace the sensor, but before you, make sure that you have enough coolant in the car, because if you are low in coolant, then temp guage will not work correctly... email me back if you need more help gotspeed7883@yahoo.com
