At times she gets a "pit" in her stomach and cries out of the blue, and can't explain why she feels this way. She tends to over dramatize alot. Is she going through growing pains, or is there a real cause for concern here?

This could be a few things actually at her age. It could be the start of her period...depression...or stress...you can have a blood test done to see if there is a chemical imbalance which means it is depression. I would take her to your family doctor and present your concerns there and see what they suggest you do.

It could just be the start of her period. Being her Mum,see if you can talk too her about. As you would well know hormones can really make us feel really crappy and sooky.

If your still unsure take her too the doctor and get her checked out.. but be aware this could make her feel even worse with personal questions so go with her help her through it :)

i hope my answer didn't make you feel like an idiot i am having trouble wording it right!
Sometimes we can't step back far enough from a problem too be objective.

Depressed or merely down? My superb pal has struggled with melancholy for a 300 and sixty 5 days now. How long is a whilst? and what are the indicators? i think of you're leaping to conclusions to be calling her "depressed". -Does she have her era? some get extremely down earlier and after. - Is she doing properly in college? - pal issues , maybe? - Does she "date" or "bypass out"? suggestions: do no longer ask or insist that something's incorrect or yell. Yelling is undesirable. do no longer snoop. merely understand and don't press the undertaking. it is all part of being 12. frequently all human beings has that factor the place they experience down and that no person is conscious.

I understand the pit in her stomach. Sometimes it can also be refered to as a "stomach in a knot".

She is probably going through bad situations or relationships with the people around her. All she needs to do is work them out so she can feel better.

I wish you and your daughter all the luck in the world... you have my best wishes.

You should call up her pediatrician and ask her if you're that concerned.

Otherwise, come on. Here come the teenage years...they do over dramatize alot, they're TEENAGERS!

And growing up is always hard. Maybe you two should spend some more quality time together. Bake cookies or hit the road together.

It could be a medical problem, it could be hormones kicking since she is the right age for puberty. Hormones and girls are a witch. (I have 15 y/o twin girls). I would take her to the dr. to make sure everything is okay though especially with the stomach region.

She may be at the onset of her period.
Take her to the doctor to be sure.
All the best!
