You're a sweet daughter! Keep it simple. A salad and soup is always good. Some fresh crusty bread works with both too.

THIS IS IT.... seriously easy and it is so delicious, everyone asks for my "homemade" chicken pot pie recipe cause they don't know how easy it is! You'll love it...
Chicken Pot Pie
1 box of Pillsbury Allready Pie Crust
1 small pkg of boneless chicken breast or tenders
OR 1 grocery rotisserie chicken, already cooked
1 can of VegAll mixed vegetables
2 cans of Campbell's Cream of Potato Soup
1/4 cup of milk or less
Dashes of Black Pepper
1/4 tsp of Thyme (optional)
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
Get the two pieces of the Pie Crust out to come to room temperature.
Bring some slightly salted water to a boil and boil 2-3 boneless chicken breasts or the equivalent amount of chicken tenders until they are tender and no longer pink inside OR debone the breasts of a rotisserie chicken that has already been cooked. Cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Set aside.
Place one of the pie crusts in the bottom of a 8 or 9 inch pie pan. (Just let the edges hang over for now...)
In a bowl, mix the soup, Vegall, chicken, milk and a several dashes of pepper together. Add the Thyme, if you have it and pour into the pie crust.
Place the top of the pie crust on top of your "pot pie" folding the edge under the bottom one and then pinch the edges together to crimp them into looking like a pie crust should look.... any way is fine.
Bake for about 40 minutes at 375 degress, a little longer if the top isn't slightly golden brown yet... It's Wonderful... a great comfort food and your mom will be so proud! Plus, I bet she'll want your recipe!!! Good Luck!

Whichever answer you choose the most important thing is to COMPLETELY read your recipe and be prepared
Second!!!! It is better to cook a long time with LOW heat than to burn yourself, your food, or your HOUSE!
I'm a MOM ...Sorry...Anyway...
Spaghetti....
you can fry hamburger in any pot but NOT too high of heat...
around one or two notches above medium...
stay with it at all times..
when it is all greyish brown spoon out meat onto a plate or bowl lined with paper towels to get out grease....
empty grease from the pan you cooked the meat in very carefully...
into an old can or even switch to another pan and ask mom about that when you are ready to clean up....
.but put cooked meat into a pot and open a jar of sauce and add it...cover and cook on below medium heat...
stir it alot and stay with it at all times.
You can follow the directions on the box of noodles if you read it carefully ahead of time...
the sauce should be fine by the time the noodles are done....
be sure to turn the sauce pan down to the lowest setting if it starts to bubble because it will pop and get on your hand if you don't....
you can do it!
Then you can make a salad if you want to and you are done!
You are a good daughter! Good Luck!

You could buy some frozen or fresh raviolis and a jar of marinara sauce, or maybe you even have some sauce and some dry pasta around the house. That's really easy to make, it's about all I know how to cook. Just get the water to boiling, add in the pasta, and let it cook for how long it says to on the package. When it's done, just add the sauce, and it makes for a nice dinner. You could even have a salad and some bread with it.

Thx for the suggestion, PreciousM. I just tried to make my own homemade Hamburger Helper & it turned out pretty good...
Brown 1 lb hamburger w/about a teaspoon of bayou blast (or your favorite seasoning) in a large skillet (you could finely dice up a small onion & brown it with the hamburger), drain, stir in a 26 oz can of cream of mush soup, 1/2 cup milk, & 2 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon worchester sauce (to taste), let simmer while you cook 1 lb wide egg noodles. Drain noodles, put in large dish & stir in hamburger sauce. Grated Parmesean cheese as garnish after you serve is good! Makes alot to serve & freeze for later!
Thx, again for Q & good answers! :)

go to the store and get some uncooked chicken tenders.
go to the rice section and get some zatarans jambalaya mix.
go home and cook the chicken, like 15 minutes. cut it up into bite size pieces. in the same skillet, add the zatarans water oil and chicken. bring it to a boil and cover for 25 minutes on low.
it is excellent. you could also use shrimp or sausages.
OR
1 lb of hamburger 1 zatarans dirty rice mix do the same as above. they also make carribean rice too, add chicken.
all easy, make in one skillet, and TASTY!!!
