I had the same thing after getting over a cold. I had it for 3 days. Try not to blow your nose hard and if you have a humidifier use it in your bedroom for a few hours before you sleep. In the winter the air is often dry, especially when heat is used. This dry out our noses and can cause nose bleeds.

It could be just that your nose is serverely dried out. Our skin tends to dry out more in the winter time. I would try sleeping with a humidifier at night. It will help keep your skin (and nose) moist and reduced the chance of another nose bleed.

thats not unusual when you have a cold, its actully quite siple to stop a nosebleed, just lean your head forward, yes forward and apply ice to the back of your neck; now i know that sounds crazy but its not a home remedy or wives tale its the actul first aid method to stop a nosebleed.

well it could be a sign of high blood pressure. but if they persist i would see a doctor.

oh by the way people probably told you lean your head back don't. all that blood will drain into your stomach and upset it. lean it foward so it will clot.
