In Japan brides wear red. The original color of the wedding gown in the US I think was Yellow. I would just do what you want to do and have fun with it. Do not be conventional. Some brides wear black and darker colors now a days. There really is not a thing saying that white is the symbol for virginity. You can wear anything you want. I, personally love white and wore it in both of my weddings. It is the veil that symbolizes your virginity, not the color of the dress. This came from my auntie that owned a bridal shop. Good luck!

Pink just got married with a gorgeouus dress that had a black ribbon on the waist. Gwen Stephanie got married on a pink outfir and it was so beautiful!
Youc an check david's bridal online catalogue to chack the ones with colors... thay are the new fasion sstatement.

White doesn't actually mean purity in a wedding dress, it means joy (the veil is what means chasity/purity). Red is a color of passion, beauty, and good luck. I think that's a delightful combination.
As long as you think it's beautiful, get it, get it! If one of my friends picked a dress like that I'd be in raptures (red is my favorite color).
Edit: I think in Steel Magnolias, Julia Roberts's dress had a pink stripe at the waist, if memory serves.

Having color in your wedding dress is one of the hottest trends right now, and is perfectly acceptable:) In fact, it is MUCH NICER when it comes to pictures, etc. Plain white wedding dresses tend to come out looking like a white blob on photographs, were ones with colored details look much more lovely.

Of course it isn't a bad thing. If you really like the dress and that's what you want to get married in, then go for it!
Congratulations, by the way!

It's only "traditional" to wear white (and only if you were a virgin). Today's society accepts just about anything--even brides in white who go into labor during the ceremony... My good friend got married in a black and white silk number, looked nice! My cousin got married in jeans and tennis shoes... I would love to see someone get married in that red number from the movie "Beetlejuice"...fact is, it is YOUR wedding--go as mild or wild as you and your groom want to and let no one tell you otherwise was is right for the 2 of you! Congrats! :)

White, tradionally, represents purity (virginity). If you are traditional, than stick with white. If you don't mind sprucing it up a bit, have fun. I have been to two weddings where the wedding dress had RED on them. They were beautiful weddings and the brides looked amazing!
Congrats on your wedding!

It is alright. These days wedding dresses tend to have a splash of colour or come in different colours.
It is whatever you are comfortable in and that you feel is "the dress" for you. It is your day.
