It depends on what you mean by "religion".
If you mean a specific religion, like Christianity or Islam, then the answer is "yes, of course you can live without it, you may even live better than with it".
However, if by "religion" you mean the general spiritual side of human beings, then the answer is "no, you cannot live without it".
Humans are symbol-making creatures. Arts and all that we believe makes a human being a human being are based on the use of symbols, of things that hint to "another" invisible reality. In order to live without a spiritual side, you should be able to live without using symbols. Then you wouldn't have languages.

I have lived without religion since I was about 15 - and that was 28 years ago, and I'm doing fine. No one needs religion.

You may not think you need religion now, but you DEFINATELY need it for after you die. So maybe you could live NOW without religion, but if you do, then what becomes of you in the next life?

I guess it depends on what a person's paradigm about religion is. My personal paradigm can't be pigeonholed into any one segment of God's rolltop desk, if you catch my drift. I believe pieces of each different one and that I feel instinctively hold the truth. With all the wars we've been through over the centuries, my belief is that the truth is fragmented and that even the religions which claim they are the complete one are actually not. My relationship with my creator is a very unique one, as is everyone's.

Yes I could, but I could not live without God. I see religion as a form... but my need of God is different, it is not based in form... it is based in relationship. In the beginning there was no religion... only relationship.

Yes, and the world would be a better place without it. The weak at heart and mind are the ones who thrive on religion. I guess they need it. And to go thru life believing in such fables is an insult to human intelligence.

Yes I live very well without it thank you. Much better than I ever lived with it. When I was with religion I was hardly ever happy except when I was with my Grandfather or Uncle. Then my Uncle was killed I became an Atheist and I have been happy ever since.
