Peace!
That's the problem with religions that do not have a central authority. Each denomination does what it thinks should be done.
There is no unity of action and purpose in religions like Islam.
Protestant Christianity is also like that. Every denomination claims they have the right interpretation of the Bible. No wonder, some non-Christians say, "Why should I become a Christian? You guys cannot even agree on the correct interpretation of the Bible!"

From what I understand, to be "extreme" in the muslim religion, it is a good thing, and to be a true muslim.. If all muslims were the best muslims they could be, the whole world would be going downhill, and people would be dying, including the muslims that don't care if they die for the greater good. This is why I think you don't see the more "moderate" muslims speak out, they know its the right thing to do in their religion, but they cannot seem to join in. There is a reason for this, and I hope they can find the truth.

Absolutely. They should have some serious motivation to as well. I know a whole family of perfectly peaceble Jordanian Muslims. The father of the family, Ahmad, works with my dad. Ahmad wouldn't hurt a fly. And yet my dad has had to FIRE people for ceaseless rude comments about Ahmad, his children and his home nation of Jordan. I remeber my dad telling me the poor guy just broke down and cried on 9/11. The extremists have to be stopped, not just for the sake of America and democracy, but for all the peaceble Muslims in the world.

Yes, we all have a responsibility to try to stop dangerous extremists. And if they are somehow motivated by your particular religion, then I think it would be good if you could try to stop those bad guys especially.
I think it's important to consider how many extremists are of different religions as well. We might be blaming a particular religion more than is deserved. Sometimes religion is incidental rather than causal.

Don't all Americans have a responsibility to help stop huge American-owned corporations from polluting the entire planet, impoverishing people all over the world, and subjecting other countries to crippling debt that they can never repay in order to seize control over those country's natural resources and make obscene profits??
And when that doesn't work, we invent a bogus reason to invade their countries.
Those corporations give Americans a bad name.
And, frankly, that's a lot of the reason why there are Muslim extremists.
I despair of America ever waking up to the consequences of our inaction against these blood-sucking corporations.

I believe Muslims have a responsibility to spread the TRUTH...and hopefully, by the grace of Allah, true Islam will supercede extremists' propagation. Indeed they give Muslims a bad name, as well as a bad name to all of mankind. I also believe it is the responsibility of all of mankind to try to help put an end to extremist behavior, but sadly, I must say, it is like fighting a house fire with pails of water.

Oh and they do acknowledge the fact that extremists exsist.
Some people have the misunderstanding that Salafis are terrorist but the truth is these terrorists are the one that hardly adhere to the Quran and authentic sunnah (legal ways of the prophet).

It would be nice, but they are just gonna deny that the extremists exsist. Its their natural defence, to say its all made up by western media.
