The price depends on where you are, and whether there are lots of people who do it in your area. If there are more hair salons offering it, then the price would be cheaper, out of competition.

For me, it cost $100, and lasted for about a whole year, even though I had really curly hair. The results were great! I don't see why some people can pay over $500 just to get the Japanese hair straightening! That's just outrageous! Just because it is expensive, it does not mean that it's better in all cases. It could be expensive because there's hardly anyone who does it, and if the hair stylist lacks experience, then the result may not be good. I guess it's expensive in America (you can get a good Japanese hair straightening in Japan for as low as $60, and the qualities are just as well as doing it in America) because it's not as common, maybe.

Look for several places that is experienced at Japanese hair straightening, and also ask anyone who has ever done it which place they recommend. I also would talk to your hair stylist, because some hair is not suited. I added the link so you can read a little bit more about it.

Yes, Japanese hair straightening is permanent.

Initial cost varies. However, follow up treatments are required as your hair grows out. You will have wavy roots & then stick straight hair which can be unattractive and hard to manage.

Consult a hair dresser and see if the long-term commitment and cost are appropriate.

A good hair dresser can suggest alternatives. Perhaps your hair is just too damaged and dry so you need deep conditioning and a gloss treatment to seal the cuticles of the hair shafts. Or you might consider getting a different hair cut so you can start over and grow out your hair to a more suitable style.

It is permanent, but only til your hair grows back out. So depending on how fast your hair grows and how straight your roots are, you may need to have the roots touched up 6 months to 2 years later. Ive had it done. Its VERY expensive, my hair was shoulder lengthed and I had to pay $680 for it, not including the $100 i had to pay in special shampoo and conditioner. The lady who did it also missed a crucial step, so it wasnt even totally straight.

HOWEVER GOOD NEWS! i had it done somehwhere else for only $240 a while later, and 7 months later my hair is still straight as a pin. Hopefully I've helped!

I think it costs somewhere in the $500.00 range. Depending on how long your hair is. Your hair has to be in healthy condition before it is done or it will break and fall out.
