Simeon told Mary that a sword will pierce through her own soul, at the time Jesus was dedicated in the temple. I'm not sure if Mary understood what this all entailed, but it does cause one to think. I can't imagine what it was like for Mary to see her son dying such an awful death and being mocked by everyone.

But, He did it all for us.

No, I don't think so. She was told by a prophet that a "sword would pierce her soul" (Luke 2:35). She knew that he had come to save the world, as she was told this by Gabriel, but I don't think she quite realized how he would do that. I do think she knew how special Jesus was and that he would be used in a miraculous way.

Doubtful. His own apostles had a hard time figuring it out even when Jesus flat out explained it to them. Peter tried to convince him nothing bad was going to happen, and to take it easy.

But on the other hand, women, although treated poorly in the Jewish religious system, seemed to be favored by Jesus, and did catch on to things faster than the men did. It's of interest to note that Jesus first appeared to women upon his ressurection. First openly identified himself as the Messiah to a woman. He dd tell them that "The son of Man came to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many". Maybe she caught on quicker to what that meant than his apostles did.

I think in some things, women can just handle spiritual truths faster than we can.

A good question, unfortunately I have not come across any religious scripture that she knew the future.Only God knew that Jesus (PBUH) will be picked up alive to heaven. Your statement is self contradicting that Jesus will be coming back, only a live person can come back.

Well, the disciples did not seem to understand that, so I guess not. She probably knew that He would be a savior (that is what Jesus means, Savior), but I don't know if she knew how He would save the world.

I'm not that sure that she knew the full extent of His ministry. She lived her life in great trust of God, but that doesn't mean that she KNEW all that was going to happen.

That is a VERY good question. I think that God told her. I think she must have known to be able to go through what she went through. But I don't know, maybe God wanted her to have Faith.

Hope This Helps!
