I dyed my hair a semi pemenant brown and brassy tones have started to come through. I was recommended to use purple shampoos which have ash in them to get rid of the gingerness. I bought a loreal elvive colour refresh for blondes (only did it in blonde) which claims to neutralise the tones and illuminate blonde and nourish and repair. Will using this conditioner lighten or affect my hair in any other way than removing brassy tones? I did a test area and it seems similair to what it was, but im worried it may change more if i put it all over my hair and make it go blondey. Any experiences/ advice?

Don't by your dye or color corrector at a regular store. Go to a beauty supply like Sally which is open to the public.

Ion is the best.

Also you can get some corrector there called red corrector which will dramatically reduce brassiness.

The Ion color is about 4.99 and the red corrector is about $5-6, but lasts for a very long time. Probably 20 colorings or more.

It probley not goin gto work becasue it is only really good for blonde because their hair is so light that the brassey tones actually pick up the purple tones. Now the reason you might see your color the way it is is because of water or because the semi has almost faded off and has now stained the hair with its dominante color. Semi's only last no more then 20 washes sometimes only half of that depending on what types of shampoos if you liked the color go back to the salon and have them do it perminant other wise you can just get the semi again.
