he was originally an anteater but then they got rid of the nose (when it was a book) soo......an ant eater with a nose job?

aardvark or an anteater (im not sure if those two are the same or not) In the books he looks the part with a big long nose but not in the cartoon he looks like a bear in the cartoon which might be confusing for somepeople. Why does an aardvark have a dog?

Arthur is an aardvark (ant eater). He looks a lot more like one in the old original books, which the television show is based on.

I have always known him as an ardvark. BUT, what I did NOT know, was that an Ardvark was also an anteater? or one with a nose job as one of your poster's responded! (loved that one! SO COOL! LOL!) =0)
