My wife's entire family (15 people) came for a visit during the holidays. The night of Christmas, everyone was sitting around relaxing and having a few drinks and watching television, playing games, etc. I was alone in the kitchen where I had been restocking the refrigerator with beer when my sister-in-law, my wife's older sister, came up and leaned into me. She put one arm around my waist and with her other hand, she slowly rubs my abs and up to my chest where, in my opinion, she lingered a little too long to be appropriate. Then she stood on her tiptoes, kissed my on the neck and said, "Love you...," then turned and walked off to get another drink.

Am I reading too much into this or do you think there was a hidden message in her actions? If so, how should I hand it?

People do alot of things when they have been drinking, could have just been the alchohol. Best thing is try to forget it and not bring it up to any family member or friends.

Let it go, i don't think she meant anything by it. I think it was just a friendly family love you kiss. Don't worry about it. If you wonder about it too much, it will just turn into a problem & might even make the family fight & cause a fight with your wife as well. So, let's avoid that by forgetting about this & just move on. The only reason you should worry is if she kissed you on your lips. That's when you worry. A kiss on the neck is nothing, maybe she meant to kiss your cheak & she missed!

First, do you think she was drunk? You know people loose their inhibitions when they are drunk. That might be an explanation but either way it was definitely inappropriate. Tell your wife as soon as possible. If may cause a riff in the family but at least you were honest in your relationship and to her that should count for something.

let's put it this way, if my sister did that to my husband, there'd be some major cat fight going on. and if I did that to my husband's brother, well... we'd probably be either heading for divorce court or a marriage counsellor. stay the heck away from this woman, make sure you are never alone with her, and if you do find yourself in a situation again, let her know with no doubt in her mind that you won't tolerate that behavior from her. she was major coming onto you in a way that no proper sister-in-law should. talk about causing a rift in the family. she's trouble.
just watch yourself really close around her.

-Tell you wife. Your sister-in-law could have been drunk, but why take a chance that your wife find out by her or anyone who might have seen her actions.. Clearly you do not want that. I honestly believe some people just love all this new-wave huggy, kissy stuff.. Everyone is hugging everyone.. have you notice.. but if you are sure that this was more.. then tell your Wife.

I think she was drunk and may not even recall what she did. Don't get caught alone with her. If your wife isn't the jealous type, you might mention it to her and tell her that you thought it was kind of strange. Maybe even a comment like, "I think she just had too much to drink or something."

If your wife is the jealous type, just avoid being alone with sil and act like nothing happened.

Let your wife know!!! A drunk man's (or womans) words (or actions) are a sober man's thoughts.
