7.5mg/kg/hr * 50kg = 375 mg/hr

750 mg / (375 mg/hr) = 2 hr

For teh pruposes of this question, which looks like someone's homework, the answer is:

7.5 mg/kg/hr times 50 kg = 375 mg/hr
750 mg divided by 375 mg/hr = 2 hours

In real life, we don't order it that way. We just order 750 mg, and the pharmacy will send it with infusion instructions. Or, at a push, it might be ordered as 750 mg over 2 hours, or something to that effect.

In the operating room, we usually iv push antibiotics, unless there is a reason not to (like hypotension with vancomycin)

But that's way more than you wanted to know.
