I would recommend switching him off of the rice ASAP. Excessive grains are not good for danes, because it is a bit more difficult for them to digest. A kibble like Solid Gold Hund-nFlocken or Eagle Pack holistic giant breed. Both are formulated for giant breed dogs like great danes. Also check out www.greatdanelady.com for more info on nutrition. If he's that large at 11months, he will probably grow maybe 2 more inches and then he'll start filling out, and could weigh up to 200 pounds, depending on his lines, and how big his sire and dam were. Good Luck!!

Hi Ujju!
Breed Standard:
The male should appear more massive throughout than the *****, with larger frame and heavier bone. In the ratio between length and height, the Great Dane should be square. In bitches, a somewhat longer body is permissible, providing she is well proportioned to her height. Coarseness or lack of substance are equally undesirable. The male shall not be less than 30 inches at the shoulders, but it is preferable that he be 32 inches or more, providing he is well proportioned to his height. The female shall not be less than 28 inches at the shoulders, but it is preferable that she be 30 inches or more, providing she is well proportioned to her height. Danes under minimum height must be disqualified.
Your Dane exceed Breed Standard. Your Great Dane a giant breed, even a while the puppy - a big.
important: He must have a correct head and expression, correct silhouette, sound movement, correct coat and color, and breed character, which includes not only what the dog looks like but how he conducts himself. The good dog not only has few faults, he has excellence. It is your dog?
You good breeder!!

It sounds like you know what you're doing so I assume that you purchased the dog form a breeder. Talk to them, they should have given you all of this information when you received the dog home. One thing I do know is that Dane's can suffer from bone breaks quite easily so keep up the calcium. Also talk to your vet about anything before you go ahead do it... P.S. I love Dane's!!

if you mean dane as in dog, he will grow really big. my neighbor has a dog that is almost as tall as i am (which is 5 ft). they get hugr. feed him some good balanced dog food. other than that, talk to a vet about anything like this. great danes need a lot of care (espeacially since they're so huge).

Take a string and measure from the center of it's shoulder bone to the center of it's knee bone. Leave the string at it's shoulder bone then rotate the string to the top of it's back. This should tell you how tall it will be when it reaches maturity.
