One Xianist's explanation of why we should not believe in evolution. Do these Xians honestly not comprehend the idea that evolution does not happen in 2 generations? Nowhere in the theory of evolution does it state that such a substantial change occurs in 2 generations. I just wonder about the IQ of some people.

"You can't it's a dumb idea anyway. My grandmother was not a monkey LOL! God bless! " http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070104124202AAVqDR1&r=w#NbUvWzS6VzMt.mnttsCp

Hello =)

Well....you can see by the first five answers, what sort of people we are dealing with. The reality of the monkey being within 2 generations doesn't seem so far-fetched now does it??

The truth of the matter is, that we not only did evolve from a unknown ape-like ancestor, we really are the 5th great ape!!

The fact that we have mastered spoken and written communication, and have developed some rudimentary technology merely makes us a very clever great ape. It does not change who and what we are.

We, undoubtedly are not the smartest creatures on the planet, either. Both elephants and dolphins have much larger brains. They simply lack the means to communicate and work with tools. Should this ever change, through evolution, or genetic manipulation, I think we would find ourselves somewhat lacking, and the biblical "fact" of man's superiority would be quickly undermined. Perhaps this simple truth is the reason many Christians are opposed to genetic research.

Somewhere, in man's distant past, however, we will find a monkey, a horse-like creature, a lizard, a fish, a worm, and eventually, a single-celled organism....This marvelous journey took place over at least a billion years, no doubt.....

If one examines oneself, however, one can find many of these thing deep within......

Namaste,

--Tom

i didn't click your link, but you are way off on the ideals of Christians. The majority of Christians in this day and time believe in a bit of both.
I'm Christian, and I believe evolution has some merit. A lot of people do. The problem with evolution is: it has been misquoted and directed. It has nothing to do with man from ape. All things evolve even man. ex: humans have an appendix and a tailbone. We have 2 kidneys. These have been explained by science and proof. Some one took Darwins theory and tried to make a mockery of it. So no man did not come from ape, but we DO evolve. My god was intelligent enough to create humanity, wouldn't he be smart enough to give us the ability to adapt???

There are lot of assumptions in the theory of evolution, and a sidestepping of some crucial issues. I sat on the fence for years about this. but now I cannot go along with evolution. FAR too much time is involved -being jut one reason.

Ok, first, learn to type before you lecture on another's intelligence. The word isn't Xian, it's Christian. Also, Xianist isn't a word, it's Christian, again. Also, an intelligent person would spell out the word 'to' instead of lazily typing 2.

And you're way too busy getting offended over what another thinks and we can all tell you don't care about the answer. All you want is someone to come on here and pat you on the back and say, "Well, gee, UFO, you're right. Xians are stupid and you are so smart." Well, tough, I'm not saying that. I say you're fairly blind to any idea beyond your own and you mock anyone who thinks differently.

Changes occur all the time. In every observable instance, information is lost. Loss of information does not constitute evolution. DNA consists of coded information that requires an existing pattern more complex than can be made by man. The source of this information that we only observe degenerating according to the second law of thermodynamics, better known as entropy laws, leads any sane individual to realize that life was designed, not an accident of nature. If this is nonsense to you, then you have more faith than I.

"Xians"?! Some form of alien life form?

Picking on Christians by abbreviating the word won't win you brownie points I'm sure. Maybe they don't or CAN'T comprehend the idea. Did you ever think of that? Due to causes and conditions beyond their control, or the choices they made due to life circumstances beyond control? Be nice.

I suppose by Xians you mean Christian? Evolution is a theory. I think we know it would takes more than 2 generations if it were true. You know perhaps it is good that you think we are so dumb, you give us the advantage, because we can get you off guard. Never underestimate your opponent, lest he get you unaware.

Evolution takes thousands and sometimes millions of years to occur -I have actually heard people say "then why are their still monkeys around"Uh because we are not monkeys-we all just have a common ancestor. This is why we share almost all of the exact same genes as primates especially chimpanzees, binobos, and apes...Some people are just slaves to their own stupidity..PEACE TO ALL--- Two thumbs down huh of course..Never underestimate stupid people in large numbers

Creationists turn to mindless rhetoric since they lack facts. Never use the standard of the dumbest answer on Y!A to evaluate a group.

Because that is how evolution is explained to them in church and by other Christians. No wonder they think its bupkiss.
They are very ill informed and have no desire to know the truth. They are all very happy believing anything they are told (regardless of how irrational or illogical) as long as it solidifies their belief in God.
