Definitely, so long as you look like Johnnie Depp or Brad Pitt. I intend to at some point.
I see it happening more and more all the time. You guys who are now in your early 40s caught a lucky break with advancements in medicine and exercise technology. It would have been much harder 20 years ago.
The psychology reports say that if you're a man under 45, you should divide your age by 2 and then add 7 years and that is the ideal age your partner. In your case (42/2) + 7=28.

Well I think it is absurd for you to come here to be with a 42 yr old woman, but thats not my business- as for the daughter- she being 11 yrs old- she prolly sees u as a 20 yr old being an adult- she prolly dont see that much difference in the ages between u and her mom- because when u are a kid grown-ups are grown-ups. Thats unless the 42 yr old mom looks like a grandparent. I think at 20 yrs old we make a lot of decisions we will regret within 5 yrs- between 20 and 25, you wont believe the changes you will go through, until u hit 25 and look back- then at 35 u will look back again and wish u were 25 again to change something else that you feel stupid for. BUT if you really do love each other, go for it man! Live and learn.

Look around you. It does happen. Most people are saying you need to have a lot of money, or look like Brad Pitt. That wouldn't hurt, but it isn't essential either.
Most younger women are likely to consider your age a liability, but it could actually be a selling point, if you're wanting to marry a young career woman, and end up as a stay at home dad.
Also, once you have decided what your requirements are, you need to be prepared to compromise on anything else. What you might be willing to accept is for your information only. If you advertise, "I'll accept a fat woman", you'll end up attracting a bunch of fat women, who have absolutely nothing going for them.
On the other hand, if you say you are eager to meet a woman of good character who likes country music, you will attract women of all shapes and sizes, who just happen to like country music.

yeah, why not. there has to be some women in their 20s who are mature beyond their years. Also, if you are stable in your career and don't have too much baggage, then I'm sure that there would be plenty of women who would be attracted to you, but I don't think you should eliminate women who are in the 30's and 40's. Age really shouldn't matter that much, just find someone that you're compatible with, and who knows she may be in her 20's (but she may also be in her 30's, or 40's, or 50's even). Good luck to you.

I think age 'can' be a number depending on the maturity and the experiences each party has held in their lifetime.
Some older people find the fun in the younger partner and the younger people can find the stabilitity of an older partner

I guess as we age... we get old... but never old in the hearts.
I have yet to experience that in another 20 years from now!
But let me see... what you need is a little confidence. Ask yourself... why not date someone in your age range? Or do you want someone younger and hotter looking?

NO! You're just going through a 'middle age crisis'. You will know 'true love' when it comes and it will be with someone closer to your own age. Leave the 20 yr. olds alone - they need someone closer to their own age also. If you do find someone, in their 20's, who's interested in you - then they are just 'gold diggers'.

If you are rich and shallow enough, sure. With today's pharmacudicals, and enough money, you might be able to find a woman in her 20's who will put up with humping a senior citizen for a while. That's "true love" isn't it?

Yes! And, if that one doesn't work, try, try again!
I am just kidding. I think that MOST PEOPLE only have ONE truest love...
But, I don't see any reason why one or more of your true loves might not be in their 20's.
I suggest that you not dip beneath 25, or you may end up regretting it later.
