ignore fred's answer, fashion can be sustainable

there are plenty of ways to do so that fits into the reduce, repair, reuse and recycle theme. By preventing making clothes from new fibres there are lots of ways to make use of old materials both old clothes and unrelated objects.

charity shops are definately something to be considered as well as repairing old clothes to make them last longer. New clothes can be made from old, unwanted clothes. Materials can also be recyled to make clothing such as fleeces can be made from plastic bottles and cups.

'new' clothes that use the above principles can be a bit pricey but are much more sustainable but if you do it yourself it doesnt have to cost the world (literally)

check out www.recyclenow.com and use the link to recycled products for some sustainable clothing ideas that are already on the market.

more people should get on board especially designers who make ones offs for the cat walk. Fashion in the cat walk sense is not the most environemtally friendly practice around!!!

Remember the sequence for sustainability is Reduce, Repair, Reuse, then finally Recycle.

fashion exists to increase consumption and encourages products to be thrown away while they are still fit for purpose.
Fashion is never sustainable.

I have no idea what "eco-fahion" is, but it is probable just another marketing new-speak term to make the over-consumer feel better about their purchase.

Because there is no planet B

Hey, I LOVE fig leaves on pretty girls! With global warming, it could definitely be a permanent trend. But I'm pretty sure the leaves wear out and need to be replaced. Or not.
