If a generation grew up never hearing about God/faith/religion, do you think they would develop their own spirituality?

palomnik: that's kind of a different question. if people are flocking to be baptized, they obviously had knowledge of religion. i'm asking, what happens when you remove even that knowledge?

Something would replace the worship. We have it built in us to worship someone or something.

It happened in Russia. Religious education was banned, the church was crushed, clergy were murdered in the thousands. And when the regime fell, people flocked to be baptized.

Religion is an ineradicable hunger in the human soul -- a hunger for meaning, truth, and beauty beyond what human reason can offer.
