How was it treated?

I have tried over the counter stuff and it does not work . I have had them surgically removed at the podiatrist but they have come back twice. Now there is a huge patch of them on my big toe so the surgery would leave my toe with nothing on the bottom. Argh

I never have but I work for a podiatrist. Usually there are 2 options for treating plantar's warts.
1. Cryosurgery-Freezing of the wart. Depending on the size this could take more than one treatment and can be very painful.
2. Wart removal-This involves an injection into the area, which is also painful, to numb the surrounding tissue. The wart is then excised.

I have patients that also swear by duct tape although I don't know the efficiency of that sort of treatment.
There are also Curad pads that you apply directly to the wart, but that also takes quite a bit of time to remove it.

I have a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot under my little toe and have had the danged thing for 30 years. I tried everything and nothing would work and yes it's painful when they freeze your foot let me tell you however.....ever since this past summer I have been going for a pedicure and they slice off the dead and cracked skin on the bottom of your foot. Well let me tell you since then my plantars wart has almost disappeared. It seems they just sliced it away. I'm very very happy.
Not sure where it is you have yours is but perhaps this could be a solution.

Salcylic acid works well - the same type of stuff in acne cream, but a bit stronger. Freezing the wart may also work. Try to keep up any over-the-counter medicine for at least 6 weeks, and see if any improvement occurs.

If it doesn't go away using what ever stuff you decide to use go to the doctor. Trust me, if you wait too long it will get infected, and that is quite painful.
