So I just found out that my bf doesn't take showers at least once a day. i think people should take a shower before getting into bed. He says he doesn't take a shower every day during the winter because he has dry skin and don't make it drier. (personal lotion is a great invention, but he's lazy.) He also says he sits in a office all day and doesn't get dirty or sweaty so why take a shower. I don't know about him but I think its a little nasty not taking a shower before bed.

I can understand if you skip a night because you were out until 2 or 3 in the morning and is tired when you get home.

Most people I know of who don't work a sweaty job don't take showers daily. Personally, I aim for every other day. But if I work out, or spend a lot of time on campus, I seem to get sweatier than usual and I need to take a bath anyway. It often turns out that I take them every day. Have a nice day!

Half the world showers before bed and the other half the next morning. And the 1% left over don't shower at all. Guys don't have to shower before bed but as long as he doesn't smell or anything like that than he is fine. My girlfriend showers every morning and (sometimes before bed but not all the time before bed) she was fine. She didn't smell or anything. Don't be self conscious. If he doesn't care to take one, than let it be.

If you just found out your boyfriend doesn't take showers daily, I presume it was because he told you, NOT because he was a little (or more than a little) whiffy!
Some people -- for a variety of reasons (heredity, diet, luck) -- don't necessarily need to bathe totally every day. Maybe your boyfriend is one of these happy few!
Does he brush his teeth after meals? Keep his fingernails trimmed and, more importantly, clean? Is he presentable when you see him (no "ring around the collar or soup stains on his shirt front/ neck tie)? Does he smell nice?
I couldn't stand crawling into bed after a night out without taking a shower -- no matter how tired or blotto I may be -- to wash off the stale smoke and other late night out smells (beer, wine, whatever). But that's just me!
As long as he smells good to you, what difference do his bathing habits make!?!

He's not the only one ... I don't see a problem with it ... people should take a shower or bath when they feel dirty ... if he doesn't feel dirty for the night ... why should he take a shower ... like he said ... he works in the office all day and doesn't do much ... I'm sure his hygiene is just fine ... get over it ... you sound rude and nasty ... " he's lazy .. blah blah blah ... he has dry skin " ... if he smells like a sweat ball then tell him ... other than that keep your clean nose out of other peoples hygiene habits ... !

If he has a skin condition lotion still may not be the answer to the dry skin. I use lotion every morning and shower every morning (my hair gets uncontrollable if I shower at night). If he is not a construction worker or something heavy duty or works out daily then I don't think it would annoy me.

He must though shower when he goes out somewhere even if it is not his day to shower...I hope.

I must agree with you, my personal desire is to take a shower before bed because the same dirt you get on your collar is the same dirt that gets on your pillow from your hair or sheets. Try getting him excited about showering daily. Like asking him to join you in the shower. My bf see's that the first thing I do when we turn it in, before my drink, before my cigarette, before i eat is jump in the shower. Now he doesn't wanna get left out the loop because we're intimate every night and he doesnt want to smell like a sweaty camel.

Is this a real question? I take a shower every morning..sometimes at night too if I hit the gym..but nothing is mandatory, nor should it be. If he stinks..then he needs to shower..if not..then oh fok-in well..you can't force feed your habits and routines down other peoples throats, ok?

I've noticed some folks don't take showers daily and some prefer mornings or evenings and some prefer both or 3 times daily.
Main thing of importance is that they taste good and that they don't stink ! If they can't pass those 2 tests, time to throw them to the wayside and find another fresher fish

Your bf is just pure lazy. A shower is defiantly a must at least once a day. For me I can shower twice a day, when I get given a chance. Good Luck with smelly over there.

My boyfriend thinks I'm gross if I don't take a shower before going to bed. He has to take a shower before bed and the minute he wakes up. I used to take a shower every morning and every night.

But now I don't want to have sex with him and so i don't take a shower at night. he won't touch me if I don't take a shower!
