I used to work in a day care and the total cost of the month would break down to $28 a day. Not a lot. But then again, you need to look at the quality of the care. Are they being fed? Naptime? Other children in the home to play with or are they by themselves? When you consider if they caregiver has to feed them, then that is money out of their pocket. Not a lot, but still that is one more can of soup or whatever then need to go purchase.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that depending on the age of the caregiver as well. If it is a grown adult or a 15-16 year old?
Older adults need more money then what children do. Personally, I would only pay a 15-16 year old $60 where as if it was a grown adult I would pay about $75-$80.
Hopefully that helps. If not...sorry.

The average cost for child care depends on where you live and what type of child care you choose. Every state has a child care resource and referral system that provides referrals and information to families at no cost. To find your R&R goto www.naccrraware.com or www.nectas.com.
The R&R can give you information on quality indicators, the rules and regulations for your state as well as a list of child care providers in your community.
There is always a balance to quality and expense. The best way to ensure that you are getting the best care at the price you can afford is to be an informed consumer.
Good Luck!

Well keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
Are you looking for child care though a day care? church? school? neighbore? Depending on where you go the rate is going to change. So does what is entitled in the care. Are they or you providing meals for the child? Activities for the child, web cam for you to check in (yes I have seen this where parents are given a log in and they can log on from work or home and check on the care their child is reciving). Everything has a price.

I only want child care, not anything more, and I usually give about $3 an hour. My one year old is very self-sufficient, she feeds herself, plays herself, and lets you know when she needs to be changed. If I come home and my house has been cleaned and she is happy, from there I'll tip him/her.
I work for $10 an hour, myself. I think that this has a lot to do with what you pay.
