We have owned a hundred dogs, seems like, because we have 2 to 4 at a time in the house. Every one was special, some in a bad way, but most were family members and greatly loved. I am calm and feel loved with my dogs. I sleep with them (they get a lot of baths) and I buy so many collars for them, etc. etc. A hateful aunt once told me I had more pictures of my animals than I did my kids, then stood there looking at me like I was worthless. She is gone now but I still remember how bad she made me feel about loving dogs so much. Did anyone ever make you feel guilty for loving dogs or other pets?

People have accused me of such and I freely admit it... I love animals more than I do people and I have no bad feelings about it. My three dogs and my horse give me endless amounts of love and all they ask for in return is food, water, affection, and a clean/warm place to sleep. But more important than love my animals never judge me like many people have judged me and your aunt judged you. So you go on and keep loving your dogs and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.

Every one in my family knows there is no animal i like more than a dog, I will always love my family but the dogs i have had are part of my family too, they are fur-kids! You can love dogs and your kids and if you really have so many dogs you should have more pictures of your dogs then your kids. If you took more pic's of your 2-4 kids then your 10-20 dogs i would feel sorry for your kids. Your kids will live longer then you most likely and the dogs Will be gone in 8-14 years and photo's can help you remember them, while you don't need to remember kids that are there=) My sister once said god Savanah you like dogs more then ppl, we were fighting about how i spent so much time walking and cuddling my Maltese Benji. He died a few years ago and i have finally convinced my dad to let me get a dog, but i want a bigger one that will look nothing like Benji i don't want to try to re-create him, ignore your hateful aunt the (key word HATEFUL) she probably has never experienced the Unconditional love of a dog. Don't feel guilty, if any one says i love dogs more than ppl i say your dam right, cuz dogs are the best!

He cheated on you once for sure but try as you might you have found no evidence that he has since. Assuming he has not cheated since, how do you think he feels when he gets patted down every time he comes home late. You drove a wedge right through your marriage by continuing to do what you do, note that he was wrong for cheating on you but you have not found evidence that he has since. I hope for your sake that he is cheating considering what you put him through on a constant basis. Why would you tell your 11 year old that you are probably going to get a divorce? What is that accomplishing? You just put undue stress on your children especially since you have not even filed, I don't understand what that accomplished. Sounds like you should just get it over with and let your children start to heal because if you and your spouse continue to fight your children will know. The longer things go on the worse it will be on your kids.

Keyword here is "hateful "aunt. There's nothing wrong with liking dogs. And you seem like a kind person. I'm sure there is plenty of love to go around.

My mom says that to me all the time. That I take care of my dogs like they're a human. I buy them doggie clothing, take them to the vet for everything, let the doggie sleep next to me on my bed, the dog gets to lay all over my couch, and eats good.

I dont' feel guilty about it because everyone has their perception of that though. I feel that i'm treating a dog like apart of my family. I know my boyfriend feels that's kind of normal (some stuff he might disagree with). I love my dogs and feel that, like I said, they're apart of my family. So..

I will admit it proudly. I like animals alot more than I like people. I mean theres my family and a couple close friends but other than that, I'd take the company of an animal of a hateful human anyday. And I don't feel one bit bad about it.

A girlfriend had 2 Rotties that I adored and once I brought them big rawhide bones (it was around Christmas). I also bought her daughter (who was 7) a candy bar. I handed her daughter the candy bar and then turned around quickly and exclaimed, "And LOOK what I have for YOU!" to the dogs. They were much happier than her daughter and she later told me that it was obvious that I liked the dogs more than her daughter. I didn't care too much though!

I've met a lot of people that would like to make me feel guilty about it, but they never succeeded, and never will.
I make no secret of the fact that I love animals more than I love people, with the exception of my child.

Don't feel guilty, I'm the same way! dogs always listen to you, and don't judge you. Who cares if you have more pics of your dogs? kids don't usually like their pics hanging around the house anyway. dogs are like some of the kids. when someone tells me I like my dogs and my horses more than people i tell them "dang straight! they listen to me better than you do!"

I get that question, and my reply is: "Dogs are better company than most people." That usually shuts them up...I don't say it snotty...just matter of factly.

I do love my kids more than my dogs, of course. But my dogs are all family.
